HE is a Louth poet and doesn't he know it!
Eleven-year-old Jacob Smith entered his poem into a Young Writers' competition and can now look forward to it being published in a book later this year.
The book, called Hullabaloo Lincolnshire, features poems submitted by children from all over the county. Jacob, a pupil at Lacey Gardens, was over the moon. As was his mum Marianna.
She said: "This is his best poem. He was very surprised to be included as he doesn't think he's that good. It has boosted Jacob's confidence and I am so proud of him."
Jacob has written numerous other poems which include Christmas Time and one about his holidays.
Love - by Jacob Smith
My Love is as red as poppies blowing in the wind
It tastes like lavender in the sweet, sweet summer
It smells so sweet, just like you
It sounds like ringing bells on a lazy Sunday morning
It feels like a smooth swan gliding.
