FAMILY ties to Alford Silver Band were celebrated at this year's awards presentation held during a free concert in the town's Corn Exchange.
Trombonist and the band's assistant conductor Richard Walker was voted as the outstanding 'player personality' of the year, receiving the Sally Walker Memorial Shield.
For the first time, this award was determined by secret ballot throughout the band, rather than by the awards committee.
The award was particularly special for Richard as the shield had been donated by his father, tenor horn player Jim Walker in memory of his late wife and Richard's mother Sally, who had also been a trombonist with the band.
Richard said: "It's a significant honour to be selected by my colleague players for this honour.
"The award came as a great surprise to me. And to Dad when he had to present me with it!"
Cornet player Kate Murray also kept it in the family, receiving the Margaret Sutton Award for commitment and dedication in the training section, a trophy her sister won last year.
Young trombonist James Barnett received the Progress Cup for the most progress made in playing standards over the last 12 months.
The band's flugel horn player, Mike Green received the Harry Farnsworth Cup for 'bandsmanship' for his behind-the-scenes work in support of the band, and in particular for his role as the band's publicity officer and as a player-mentor to the training section.
