ALFORD will enjoy its 15 minutes of fame in the summer when the town appears on BBC 2's Escape to the Country.
The crew from the series filmed in the town on Thursday when they were in the area looking for a house for sale at around £210,000 for Steve Barrit and Warren Archer from Taplow, near Maidenhead. They were looking to move near Alford or Willoughby.
Spending three days in the area to look at property, the pair had enjoyed a flight in a glider at Strubby with Lincolnshire Gliding Club last Tuesday.
Bert Barker, chairman of Lincolnshire Gliding Club, took them up in a glider to show the kind of hobbies on offer in the area.
He said: "They certainly seemed to enjoy it."
The production crew also visited two houses in Strubby, but ruled them out as the men were looking for a modern rural property with land - and neither of the homes in the village had enough land.
On Thursday The Willows Restaurant had 15 extra customers as the whole crew went to the West Street restaurant for lunch where they also decided to do some filming.
The presenter was filmed talking to the camera, and shots were also taken from outside and down the street.
Restaurant owner Paul Robinson said the crew had enjoyed trying out the Lincolnshire dishes.
