ONE of Alfred Hitchcock's greatest films will be screened by Louth Film Club on Monday October 29 at the Playhouse Cinema.
Hitchcock¹s first Hollywood feature was made in 1940 but the club is showing a new print.
It is a faithful adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's much loved novel Rebecca.
From its famous first line - 'Last night, I dreamt I went to Manderley again' - to its spectacular finale, the film will have you on the edge of your seat.
Laurence Olivier plays Maxim de Winter and Joan Fontaine his second wife, discovering the spirit of her predecessor, Rebecca, has a sinister hold on de Winter's large country house.
Judith Anderson plays the terrifying housekeeper, Mrs Danvers.
Rebecca is Certificate PG.
