Louth Film Club kicks off its new season at the Playhouse Cinema on Monday, 8 February, with one of the most widely acclaimed films of 2009, Let The Right One In.
This outstanding Swedish movie has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2010 BAFTAs. BBC film reviewer Mark Kermode says it was the best new release (in any language) during 2009.

Set in a wintery suburb of Stockholm in the early 1980s, Let The Right One In tells the story of Oskar, a bullied 12-year-old boy, and Eli, the girl next door who only likes to come out at night. It's a vampire movie, but unlike any other that you will have seen — or avoided. Macabre, but also tender and very moving. T

he Times film critic Wendy Ide called it 'pure magic'.

Let The Right One In is Certificate 15. The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £3 for members, standard cinema prices (£5.20 or £4.10 concessions) for non-members.

Fo a free programme of all Louth Film Club's forthcoming films, and information on membership, visit Off The Beaten Tracks record shop at 36 Aswell Street, Louth (closed on Thursdays). Tel: 01507 607677.
