The winners of the Louth Leader Champions 2008, sponsored by Norwich and Peterborough Building Society, were announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the Kenwick Park Hotel, Louth.
Over the weeks people have voted in their hundreds for the champion nominees to become winners.
And on the night eight deserving people collected their awards.
The categories were: Community Spirit, Top Teacher, Carer, Customer Care, Child Achiever, Youth Achiever, Parent/Grandparent, Sports Person and the Leader Champion Achiever.
And presenting them were the Mayor of Louth, Coun Fran Treanor, and Branch and Duty Mangers for Norwich and Peterborough's Louth branch in Mercer Row, Claire Ravenscroft and Clare Corn.
The Community Spirit Award went to Rose Parnell for fundraising for local charities.
She nominated her award to her dance class, The Honky Top Stompers: "I am really taken back and tearful, it is not just about me, everybody works so hard".
The Top Teacher Award winner was Chris Wood for inspiring pupils at Kidgate Primary School, Louth. She said: "I am very surprised to have won and would like to thank all children and parents of Kidgate School".
Wayne Maddison won the Carer Award for his service to Louth as the LIVES First Responder. He said: "I am surprised. I just want to say thank you".
Tom Richardson, Boys Captain at Louth Swimming Club won Sportsperson of the Year. He said: "It is brilliant. I didn't expect this at all. I am honoured".
Gloria and Millicent Tuplin gained recognition for their talent in ice skating. They said: "It feels really special. We just want to thank mum for getting us up at 4.30am every morning! It's all worth it"
Brave teenager Alex Ruby who is battling an inoperable brain tumour and has written 51 poems received the Youth Achiever Award.
"It is so amazing to win. I am absolutely speechless" he said.
John Taylor won the Parent Award. He has a prosthetic leg but manages to look after his disabled wife, his autistic son and his daughter. He said: "I am very happy, I couldn't ask for anything more. It's brilliant".
The Customer Care Award went to Louth County Hospital. Representing the hospital were Karen Kerman, Trish Taylor, Pete Thompson and Ian Drewery. Trish Taylor said: "On behalf of all staff we are delighted to be nominated and win this category. This is for every member of staff at the hospital".
And the Leader Champion Achiever Award, chosen from all winners across the categories, went to Tom Richardson for his sporting victories at Louth Swimming Club.
He said: "I am speechless; I didn't expect to get anything! I want to thank everyone from Louth Swimming Pool, the public who voted for me and Norwich and Peterborough".
Presenting the evening was Tim Robinson, Managing Editor of Lincolnshire Newspapers.
He said: "It has been a terrific evening. It is great to be part of something that honors the achievements of local people".
Carolyn Hobson of Louth was the lucky winner of a John Lewis Hamper worth £150 in a free prize draw organized by Norwich and Peterborough, which ran alongside the Champions awards.
