TICKETS have been selling fast for the Snake Davis Band New Year Concert on Friday January 8, but Louth Town Hall's ballroom is a big enough venue for there to be a guarantee of tickets available on the door.

The band will be playing its vigorous blend of jazz and soul music, with some quieter interludes when Snake puts aside his saxophones for the ethereal sound of the shakahuchi, a Japanese bamboo flute, or an Irish-influenced number on tin whistle.

As one of the country's leading saxophonists, Snake Davis has played and recorded with many famous musicians, including Dionne Warwick, The Eurythmics, Lionel Richie and Paul McCartney.

He's also performed in leading jazz clubs in both the UK and the USA.
The Town Hall ballroom will have a jazz club atmosphere on Friday, with candlelit tables and a bar.

The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10, on the door or in advance from Off The Beaten Tracks record shop (closed Thursday) at 36 Aswell Street, Louth.
