SHIFTING Sands theatre comany present The Deadline at the Riverhead Theatre on Wednesday April 30 at 7.30pm.
This is a dynamic celebration of film noir, thrillers and detective films, peopled by double crossers, hard boiled characters, women in peril, blackmailers and losers.
The Deadline is Raymond Chandler meets Laurel and Hardy in a shadowy world of menace and bad luck where nothing is ever what it seems.
It is a visual feast of clowning and physical theatre by turns irreverent and moving, comic and heart breaking - it is clown noir!
This original piece of theatre has been devised by Shifting Sands in collaboration with Nottingham based writer Andy Barrett who has written more than 50 plays across the East Midlands and beyond.
Last year he wrote The Allotment which was short listed for the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award due to 'the quality, integrity and innovativeness of the production'.
Shifting Sands creates simple yet dramatic sets and uses object/prop manipulation, sound and physical comedy to create a magical theatrical experience.
Past productions include Great Expectations, Pandora's Box, Faustus – A Devilish Comedy!, Boxed In and Romeo & Juliet.
