EDITOR – I could not agree more with Chris Clarges.
The eco town prospectus tells us the Manby scheme 'would create a new focus for inward investment, raising the profile of the area and attract much needed skills and a
wider range of professional services and boost tourism'.
Isn't this another way of sounding Louth's death
knell?

Instead of each individual eco town threat creating its own protest group, maybe threatened communities across England should rise up as one and insist the Government address the housing situation in a different way.

To me, eco towns appear to be a very sloppy and convenient way of quickly delivering a political promise.
