23/07/08 - I think we DO need a supermarket in town
EDITOR – I live in Louth, but work for one of the major supermarkets in Grimsby.
We offer a home delivery service (via the internet) which every week is seeing an increasing number of people from Louth and surrounding villages using this service.
As the demand has been huge they are now expanding to Mablethorpe and Skegness.
So to say that Louth doesn't want or doesn't need a supermarket is ridiculous.
If a supermarket was built in Louth, people from as far as Mablethorpe would come to Louth instead of going all the way to Grimsby, therefore increasing the trade in the town.
Isn't that what we want?
Parking is not free as most supermarkets charge to stop people using it as a car park, (charge is refunded if you shop in store).
Most people I have spoken to who shop at the supermarket in Grimsby would love one in Louth.
It would also create jobs, which the people of Louth find hard to get.
