EDITOR – Re Louth Run for Life. On behalf of the organising committee of the Louth Run For Life, I am writing to express our gratitude to everyone who supported this potentially life saving community event and made it such a memorable day for all concerned.

Now in its third year, it has established itself as the best cancer fundraising event in the county certainly boasting the most attractive course with its town centre start and finish and pretty route through Hubbard's Hills and back.

The succes
s of the 'Run' is due to several factors, firstly the Athletic Club's expertise and involvements which ensures everything runs to time, secondly the generous support we receive from the Town Council and local businesses, especially the Co-operative Group who provided all the items for the goody bags and thirdly the unstinting commitment of the Louth Round Table, Rotary Club and Louth Police Cadet volunteers who freely give of their time to marshal the course and man the water station in Hubbard's Hills.

For me, personally, it has been especially pleasing, during the weeks preceding the event, to see so many ladies in particular out training around the town and Hubbard's Hills in all weathers, which has made me full of admiration of their enthusiastic commitment to this worthwhile cause.

We are already planning the 2009 run and looking to make improvements to make it even bigger and better.
Best Wishes to you all, see you again next year.
