EDITOR - I was born in Louth and have lived here all my life and part of the local culture is the Louth market.
People are attracted to the town because of the market and come especially because of it and then spend the day here and spend money in the town in other shops as do holiday makers etc.

Why would we look to axe a day when it seems to work well?

I acknowledge that it may be losing money, however in my opinion the council waste money in many other areas and I am sure there are lots of other areas in which this money could be saved.

The town would suffer greatly in my opinion if you axe a day surely we should be looking at ways to protect the income of the shop keepers trade or the town will become a ghost town and no one will benefit!

Louth is known far afield for its historic values.

Let's keep them!
