EDITOR - A few weeks ago, after taking off from Humberside Airport, the patchwork quilt of fields and open space made me realise how lucky I was to live in this area of the England of yore, far from the madding crowd.
I was therefore somewhat concerned to find on my return, the Meddlers of Manby (ELDC) were at it again seeking to lessen the laws governing the building of new houses in our villages.

Open up this particular Pandora's Box and we can already see the predatory gleam in the eyes of property developers from 100 miles away.
There are plenty of properties for sale in this area without cluttering the countryside with even more.

Some of them, to my knowledge, have been for sale over two years.
I recollect that at a meeting at Withern concerning the eco town farce, a council jobsworth said he wanted to turn this area into a place like Stevenage.

The mind boggles to discover that we could be at the mercy of someone like that. They should boot this idea into touch.

One further note, between Lake Garda and Venice in the north of Italy through Lombardy, the Veneto, Umbria and Tuscany to Rome - NOT ONE wind turbine in sight.

Something else for the Meddlers to think on.
