Waves that ripple in the sun
As white the foam at edge does run
On beach so fine the golden sand
Wind breaks needed to save the land

The dunes are wild with gorse and grass
Rabbits run as children pass
To their burrows safe, secure
Till the need for food does lure

Star and jelly fish are seen
As near the edge where sea has been
Skin feels soft, salt water seeps
As barefoot in the sea one creeps

Deeper now to swim with ease
Waves grow stronger with the breeze
A seal is seen, it nears the shore
Is it alone? Or are there more?

Roundabouts and swings for all
Big wheel stands so very tall
Upon the sand a rug is laid
Picnic hamper with food displayed

Carnival time and fancy gear
Crowds all gather, raise a cheer
Procession led by Carnival Queen
Band is playing, completing scene

The sun goes down and shadows fall
Belongings gathered, for home does call
More happy hours one hopes to spend
Another day before Summer end.
