THE Eco Fest at Badger Farm, Asterby, from June 15 to 17 will be the very last.
Organiser Susi Mulligan admits that after 16 very successful years of organising the highly popular family musical event, it is now time for the weekend festival to bow out.
It began 16 years ago as a small gathering of like minded people, artists, musicians, drummers and those who enjoyed a glass of amber nectar!
They built a wicker man and burned it at midnight to celebrate the Summer Solstice. The festival grew and grew, a wind turbine was added and the bar was plugged in. There were popular drumming workshops and Eco Fest was born.
This final year the grand reunion event will celebrate Lincolnshire talent and will feature bands from all over the county including Merlin’s Keep, Starvin’ Sid, Elliott Morris and the Battle of the Bands winners from Louth, A Trip to the Roses.
Whilst Susi is calling time on Eco Fest, the Small World festival later in the summer will continue, hopefully with a Community Grant from East Lindsey District Council.
