A POPULAR dance academy at Monks Dyke Technology College run by Lincolnshire Dance has proved so popular that the weekly sessions are to continue.
Now the pupils will be forming the College’s first-ever dance company, ‘MD Dance Co’.
The pupils from Years 10 to Year 13 have now created the piece ‘Platform2’ based on their own and others sometimes very funny experiences of waiting for trains, choreographed by dance teacher Leanne Marritt.
‘Platform 2’ will be performed as part of the annual College BTEC dance show on Wednesday 28 March at 7pm.
Leanne Marritt said: “The company promises to be an important part of the ever-growing dance provision at Monks’ Dyke.
“Students in the company benefit from extra technique and creative sessions and for many of them, this experience supports their dance work in lessons.”.
