Louth area gardens open for National Gardens Scheme

THREE gardens will be open in Fotherby on Sunday June 17.

They will be open from 11am to 5pm for the National Gardens Scheme.

Nut Tree Farm, owned by Mr and Mrs Hunter, is over an acre of recently established garden with stunning views of the Wolds.

There is a sweeping herbaceous border framing the lawn, an attractive brick potager, a pedigree flock of prize winning Hampshire Down Sheep in fields surrounding the garden and honey for sale.

The small garden at Shepherds Hey, owned by Roger and Barbara Chester, is packed with unusual and interesting perennials.

The open frontage gives visitors a warm welcome with a small pond, terraced border and steep bank side to a small stream.

The garden at Woodlands, home of Mr and Mrs Bob Armstrong, is a lovely mature woodland garden with many unusual plants set against a backdrop of an ever changing tapestry of greenery.

There is an award winning professional artist’s studio/gallery open with some wonderful paintings and visitors will be sure to find some interesting and unusual plants that they will have seen in the garden to take home from the well stocked nursery.

There will be home made teas at Woodlands.

Combined admission for all three gardens is £3.50. Children are free.
