Mablethorpe show’s set for Sunday
THE Mablethorpe and District Show takes place this Sunday – and with something for everyone and the prediction of warm weather it promises to be a memorable family day out.
The massive annual event is the result of weeks of rigorous planning and this year’s top attraction is the Ben Potter bird of prey falconry show.
The popular Lincolnshire Hospital Brass Band will be just one of the bands on offer.
There will be fun for all the family including classic cars, martial arts demonstrations, stalls, children’s shows, a giant car boot sale and much more. Local Irish rockers the JeriPatricks will be offering their unique sounds in the afternoon and the East Coast Martial Arts and LIVES will be giving expert demonstrations on their work.
At the end of the day awards and presentations will take place.
Last year over 2,000 people attended the show and this year organisers are hoping to better that figure with attractions such as the falconry show and demonstrations.
Show organiser Mike Roussell said: “Final preparations are in full swing and we’re looking forward to another successful show.
“There’s something for everyone and for people of all ages.
“Hopefully the weather will be favourable and we’re looking forward to seeing as many people as possible on Sunday.”
The show takes place at Tennyson High School in Seaholme Road, Mablethorpe on the school field, entry is £1.50 for adults and children go free. There is a licensed bar on site and amusements.
The car boot sale will begin at 8am, the show at 10am and the arena events begin an hour later at 11am and finish around 4pm.
There is still time to book a trade and charity stall at the show, bookings can be taken up until Saturday.
For further details about the event or to book a stall call Mike Roussell on 07950 940749.
