Pris McGirr Quartet at Louth Jazz Club
MANY people know of the New Orleans Club in Louth, home to John Paddon’s South Wold Jazz Band, is 50 years old this year.
John is a passionate advocate of genuine and authentic New Orleans jazz and is dedicated to the preservation of this music.
The band plays at the club every Saturday night from 8pm to 10.30pm and often features guest players such as the renowned New Orleans-style clarinettist Brian Carrick - when he is not touring the UK and Europe with his own band, the Heritage Hall Stompers, that is.
The club also runs occasional evening sessions during the week for those who can’t make Saturday nights but love great jazz and still want to support the club.
Thursday April 19 saw one of these sessions featuring the Pris McGirr Quartet.
The next opportunity to hear Pris at the club is on Thursday May 17 at 8pm at the club in Queen Street.
Members pay just £3 entrance whilst guests pay just £4.
