THE name Anne Fridal will be reverberating around Louth for a long time to come after the spectacular performance she gave in St James’s Church on Saturday evening, supported by Louth Male Voice Choir.

In the short week International Dramatic Soprano Anne was in Louth she charmed everyone she met and not least the five singing students at her master class on Wednesday who were all buzzing after their sessions with her.

A large audience gathered for the concert which ranged from operatic arias and spirituals to Broadway and songs for the choir to sing on their own and with Anne.

LMVC baritone, John Hards joined Anne to give an uproarious rendition of Rossini’s Duetto Buffo Di Due Gatti.

At the end Anne received a resounding standing ovation after the spiritual Ride On King Jesus and the audience were rewarded with an exquisite rendition of Habanera from the opera Carmen followed by Funiculli, Funiculla with Anne and the choir.
