Traditional Russian music comes to Louth

Say ‘niet’ to those post-Christmas blues with ELKA, a lively and colourful concert of traditional old Russian music, songs and stories performed by an accomplished group assembled by Russian-born historian and lecturer Irena Lingard of Ludford on behalf of Louth Naturalists’, Antiquarian and Literary Society.

This enchanting and entertaining concert is in aid of Louth Museum, where Irena is a regular volunteer guide.

Meet such characters as Krestnaya (Fairy Godmother) and Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and perhaps learn a Russian song or two.

ELKA will take place at Holy Trinity Centre, Eastgate, Louth, on Sunday January 13 at 1.30pm.

Tickets are £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.

Light refreshments will be provided and the event will finish around 4pm.

In 2013, Louth Museum in Broadbank, which was last year voted Lincolnshire Museum of the Year, will be open every Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm from April 2 to October 26.
