Medieval Tournament at the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre

ENJOY the Knight of your life at the final Medieval Tournament of the season at the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre.

The event gets underway on Sunday August 19, and gates are open from 10.30am with the festivities commencing from 11.15am until 3pm.

Being the last event of the season, Volunteer Manager of the centre, Terena Bolam is hoping for the day to be a big success and hopes plenty of funds will be raised on the day to get the centre through the tough winter which lies ahead.

It is currently a very difficult time for the Heavy Horse Centre and funding towards the centre comes from public funding, and like everyone times are very hard.

The day expects to raise at least £1,000 if the £5,000 needed to buy hay to get the horses through the winter.

With a special appearance from Lincoln Castle’s Falconer, Derek Tindall, who birds of prey demonstration is hugely popular and the audience even gets the chance to hold the birds too.

An exciting skill of arms display is expected, archery, a bouncy castle and of course some traditional Medieval Jousting will also be going on throughout the day.

Hot and cold food and drinks will also be on offer.

Admission to this unmissable event is only £5 for adults and £3.50 for consessions.
