THE Co-op is investing over £1 million to transform its supermarket in Mablethorpe into a showpiece community food store.
A spokesperson for the Co-operative Group said: "As well as a new contemporary look and spacious lay-out, the store will include new fittings and eco-refrigeration. The emphasis will be on chilled, fresh and premium foods with an increase in the range of fruit, vegetables, in-store baked bread, pastries and Fairtrade products."

The coffee shop, which is run as a concession by Eurest, will be removed in order to make space for the improved and extended range.
Regional manager Glyn Rotherham said: "This £1m revamp represents a major investment in Mablethorpe by The Co-operative and reinforces our commitment to remaining at the heart of the community."
