FIREFIGHTERS spent several hours tackling a huge blaze which tore through a barn in Mablethorpe last week.

Firefighters from Mablethorpe, Alford and North Somercotes were called to the scene on Church Lane at around 1.16pm on Thursday and didn't leave until 8.39pm that night.

Around 200 hay bales were destroyed in the fire along with 70 per cent of the barn roof's beams.

The cause if believed to be deliberate.
