MABLETHORPE'S Youth Forum are preparing for an exciting art project in the town – and are urging other young people to get involved.
The graffiti art project will allow young people to showcase their creative talents and brighten up seating area on Mablethorpe seafront.
Those involved will soon be able to work with professional graffiti artist James Mayle to incorporate their work into a collage covering the old beach shelter by the fairground.
Debbie Prince, East Lindsey District Council's Neighbourhood Projects Officer, said: "Young people are clearly passionate about Mablethorpe and it's great to involve them in such projects as it gives them a sense of pride in where they live."
The group are still looking for young people to design and submit artwork for the project.
Once the work is in, James will select a certain amount to be recreated on the shelter. The date set for the work to begin is Saturday May 3 from 11am until 4pm.
The initiative also offers the opportunity for those aged 11 to 25 years to gain a national qualification.
The Youth Forum was launched on January 26 to give young people a voice on issues in Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea. It is supported by the ELDC Neighbourhood Management Team, Children's Services, Mablethorpe Town Council and the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The next Youth Forum meeting is at 7pm on Wednesday May 21 at Mablethorpe Community Access Point and Library, Stanley Avenue.
