THE search for a missing man across our area has been concluded, following the discovery of his body at sea.
Shaun Slack, 51, from Cley Hall Drive in Spalding was formally identified yesterday afternoon, Tuesday May 6 by family members at Grimsby Hospital.

His body was discovered by the Humberside Coastguard at around lunchtime on Saturday in the sea off the north east coast at Spurn Head.

He was reported missing by his wife on April 24, having failed to return from Anderby Creek where he had visited relatives.

Mr Slack's car was discovered the same day he was reported missing, close to the beach at Wolla Bank, near Chapel St Leonards.

An extensive search of the area and coastal strip was carried out by HM Coastguard, Air Sea Rescue, Louth Search and Rescue, Mablethorpe Lifeboat and Lincolnshire police. Tragically, all efforts failed to locate any trace of him.

The circumstances that led to Mr Slack's death are now in the hands of HM Coroner for Grimsby.
