A MABLETHORPE teenager has been arrested by police after being caught riding a moped without a licence.

Police have charged an 18 year-old Peter Barnes from Brooke Drive with various offences, following an incident in which he failed to stop for officers carrying out a routine patrol.

The incident happened around 12.45pm on Tuesday November 17 on Sutton Road, Trusthorpe. Barnes was riding a black and yellow quad bike when he failed to stop for officers.

He was eventually detained close to the Seal Sanctuary, arrested and taken to Skegness Police Station where he was later charged with failing to stop, driving without a license, driving without insurance and possession of Class B cannabis.

Barnes was given unconditional bail and is due to appear before Skegness Magistrates Court on Friday December 4.
