MABLETHORPE has received another mention Down Under thanks to the Australian Prime Minister Twitter story first featured on the Leader's website.
The country's biggest newspaper The Australian has featured another article online in response to a reply sent by the PM's office to Mablethorpe mayor Helen Parkhurst who invited him to visit the resort.

Journalist Christian Kerr wrote: "Kevin Rudd's friendship with a small seaside resort on England's windy northeast coast that catapulted to prominence when the Prime Minister became the town's first follower on Twitter appears to have moved up another notch."

The article goes on to discuss Miss Parkhurst's plan to invite the PM to the town or for him to switch on the summer illuminations via a web cam link-up.
