BOOKWORMS at Mablethorpe Primary School can now brush up on their reading and researching skills at their new library

Poet Mike Smith from Hull was invited along to the opening ceremony on Friday and cut the ribbon. He then stayed and worked with the pupils helping them to explore the ways words can be used to create poems.

The school's literacy coordinator, Jeanette Ashton said: "One of our school objectives is to improve children's reading skills, and for them to enjoy a widening range of books.

"As part of this project, the school library was reorganised and re-sited in a mobile classroom, for ease of access and to provide a better working space for classes. Miss Jenny Nye has worked hard to provide this new resource in recent months."

The school has also bought new books, storage and furniture to update the library.
