The Mablethorpe Area Partnership CIC has received a £50,000 Government grant to rejuvenate and enhance a complete block of beach huts on Mablethorpe promenade.
It is one of 15 projects along the Great British Coast benefitting from a share of £700,000 to boost tourism.
Coastal communities minister Mark Francois said: “Across our Great British Coast we’ve got heritage hooks to be proud of, but some places need some tender loving care.
“That’s why over the past year we’ve invested £3.7million to get them back into shape and now Mablethorpe beach huts and 14 more British attractions will be buoyed up by work to restore them to their former glory.”
The beach huts, a feature of Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea seaside for more than 70 years, are an important part of local life. This funding will mean the block of huts can be completely renovated, so that visitors can enjoy home comforts by the seaside for years to come.
