Bird offal crash closes road near Fulstow

Monday 10.30am -

FORTY tonnes of chicken and turkey offal closed off Pear Tree Lane near Fulstow after the articulated lorry transporting the animal entrails came off the road.

The collision happened at 2.50am on Saturday January 30.

The driver of the white, Scania lorry was a 31-year-old man from Penrith, Cumbria.

He became trapped in his cab and had to be cut free. He suffered unknown injuries as a result.

Emergency services attended the scene and carried out specialist recovery of the vehicle and clearance of the scene.
