Business as usual expected at Louth filling stations during fuel protest

PETROL stations in Louth have said they are not expecting there to be any disruption over the weekend caused by fuel protests.
A group called Transaction 2007 is organising protests across the country including one outside the oil refinery in Immingham.
They are campaigning for an immediate relaxation in the level of tax on petrol and diesel fuels in the UK.
Both the Esso garage in Newmarket, Louth, and John Darke's Garage in Grimsby Road, said they do not foresee any problems over the weekend.
A spokesperson from PetrolPrices.com said refinery blockades like those in 2000 are now illegal and so this weekend's protests should not be as disruptive.
In 2000 protests at the price of fuel caused a nationwide petrol shortage.
