Tuesday 2pm - A CALL for a better deal for East Lindsey's blind residents came at a full meeting of the district council.
Coun Sandra Harrison reminded colleagues this group of people often face extra costs such as using taxis or private hire vehicles.
She said they were worthy of additional mobility benefit to save them from being excluded from the sorts of activities that sighted people take for granted.
Following her presentation, it was agreed ELDC chief executive Nigel Howells and council leader Coun Doreen Stephenson should write to the Secretary for Work and Pensions, James Purnell MP, inviting him to address these concerns.
