POLICE are urging drivers to take 'extreme caution' after this morning's snow fall.

There were approximately 30 car accidents in the county today as cars skidded on the icey roads.

The worst of the snow is over - in some areas it was 10cm deep - but temperatures are expected to plummet further tonight and black ice is possible.

Police are urging drivers to take extra care on the roads and to travel with warm clothing and a shovel.
