FIRE crews in Louth were called out twice last night to attend incidents of deliberate ignition.

The first occurred at Eve Street in Louth, where a derelict bungalow was set alight. Crews were dispatched at 8.14pm last night (Thursday) to deal with the blaze.

Crews estimate that 30 per cent of the bungalow was damaged by direct flame with 60 per cent being damaged by smoke. Two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire.

Less than seven hours later, crews were called out again, at 2.48am this morning, to attend a car fire at the Link in Louth. One vehicle was completely destroyed and a second, nearby car was also moderately damaged by the heat.

The fire service have said that both fires were started deliberately
