Monday 11am - A DOSE of literacy, a pinch of numeracy and a sprinkling of science - this is a Louth primary school's perfect recipe for a class project.
Budding chefs could soon emerge from Kidgate Primary School pupil's got involved in a class project with a local chef.

The school's year four pupils chose 'Come dine with us' as the theme of their project and quickly involved the expertise of a local chef, Anna Chase of The Lemon Chase tea rooms in Upgate.

The children developed their own recipes after interviewing people on their favourite snacks and then spent a morning at The Lemon Chase where they prepared, made and served snacks to their fellow pupils – who then had the difficult, yet delicious, job of judging them.

The children will now create and launch advertising campaigns, including jingles, to sell the tasty treats.

Class teacher, Heather Sandy said: "The topic primarily encompasses Literacy, Numeracy, Science, DT and Music in a rich, cross curricular manner and we are all very excited about it!"
