Wednesday 2pm - TWO talented musicians from King Edward VI Grammar School have been selected to go on a week long course with the English Schools Orchestra, ending in a performance at Southwark Cathedral.
Students Alice Speirs and Jack Amey, both aged 16, will attend the course in October.

Alice Speirs plays the violin, achieved Grade 8 with Distinction in December and is now working on her diploma.

She has been playing the violin for 12 years and also plays the piano and flute.

Alice plays in the Lincolnshire Youth Symphony Orchestra and leads the school orchestra.

Jack Amey plays the bassoon, achieved Grade 6 in November and is working towards Grade 8.

He has only been playing the bassoon for two and a half years and plays first bassoon in the school orchestra.

He also plays the guitar.
