Louth Cattle Market prices

Wednesday 11am - ALL cattle at Louth Livestock Centre met with firm demand last Thursday.
The total cattle average price was 152.79ppk with larger steers 556+ kgs still averaging well over £1,000 per head.

Store cattle and cows and calves still remain a very firm price with Steers averaging £701 per head and Heifers £549 with Cows and calves to £1,140.

The top price per kilogram in the fat cattle ring was for a Lim x Heifer from PK Farms of Friskney weighing 516kgs and selling for 167.5ppk.

The top price was a very strong Lim from TF Stubbs of Trusthorpe weighing 736kgs and selling for £1,225 (166.5ppk).

Also selling well were cattle from JH Atkinson & Son of Thrusthorpe with their top price being a Lim x heifer weighing 548kgs and selling for 165.5ppk to CR Laking & Son of Louth.

Demand still remains strong for OTM cattle with the top price being for a BA x cow from Roy Twigg of Skidbrooke weighing 772kgs and selling for 144.5ppk (£1,115).
