Sightings in the UK have previously been shrouded in mystery but accounts of around 800 UFO sightings between 1981-1996, including sightings at Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, dubbed Britain's Roswell, in 1980, have been revealed.


In Lincolnshire, just two reports have been listed, one incident at RAF Waddington in February 1996, and another near Louth.


In the RAF Waddington incident, a single very bright white light is reported in a stationery position towards the south of Newark.


The report says it was no more than seven miles away and the weather conditions were clear initially and then cloudy, before strong winds.


It adds: "Initially air traffic control at Waddington reported they could not see anything on primary or secondary radar."


Later at about 7.30pm air traffic control reported they could see what they considered to be anomalous propagation visible on the radar in the area the UFO was reported.


It continued: "These were of an intermittent nature and speed would not indicate primary radar contacts. These and props were evident elsewhere on the radar."


Notes on the report said atmospheric conditions including cloud and sleet, which is sometimes referred to as anomalous propagation, was spotted, and it said it was not a concern for the MOD.


The second Lincolnshire incident was spotted in the skies above Louth on Thursday, December 9, 1993, at 4.30pm.


This UFO was described as three lights forming the shape of a triangle, which witnesses thought were at points of a triangular-shaped craft, travelling in a north westerly direction.


The incident was reported by several motorists driving along the coastal road near Louth.


The UFO was said to have hovered, turned on its axis and then shot off at 500mph in a north-westerly direction, flying upwards.


Many local people experienced automatic changes in channels on their televisions that evening.


RAF Donna Nook also witnessed the incident.
