Wednesday 3pm - Police are hunting two men who got into an elderly woman's home by pretending to be from the water board.
A man called at the address of an elderly lady in St Bernards Avenue, Louth between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Friday.
He stated he was from 'the waterboard' and needed to check the pipes. Having been given entry into the property, the man went into the bathroom and ran the taps.
The lady went to complain about wasting water and then noticed a second man had entered her home and was in her lounge.
She disturbed the man and both left the property, with nothing believed to have been stolen.
Police are appealing for sightings of the two men in the area on Friday afternoon.
The man who called at the premises is described as having a tanned appearance, in his 30s, of medium build and five ft six inches tall. He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a dark blue baseball cap. There is no description available of the second offender.
Anyone with information should contact Louth Police Station on 01507 604744 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
