Saturday 8am - A NOTE of concern has been sounded on the apparent lack of business interest in the Fairfield Enterprise Centre in Louth.
It was hoped the state-of-the-art office complex would quickly become a hub of creativity among entrepreneurs. But latest figures reveal it is only two per cent occupied – with just five people working in the building.

At an East Lindsey District Council executive board meeting, members felt the economic downturn was a factor in the disappointing performance, along with unappealing occupancy terms. Coun Ed Mossop said: "It's a stunning building – we need to get it filled if we are to create a vibrant office culture there."

The view was endorsed by council leader, Coun Doreen Stephenson, who expressed misgivings about the high running costs to the authority which would only escalate with the onset of winter.

ELDC's chief executive Nigel Howells described the situation as 'a bit of a worry' and said there might be a need for renewed marketing of the premises and a change in the lettings policy.
