2.40pm - THE PRIZE giving ceremony at Cordeaux School rounded off an exciting year which started with the 50th anniversary celebrations and ended with a successful Ofsted report in which 'teamwork at every level' was identified as outstanding.
Headteacher Peter Kubicki emphasised the theme of teamwork in his speech highlighting the work of governors, parents, staff and students as 'integral' to success.
He praised the partnership which had led to the building of the Wolds College on the school site and the work of the SOCS (Supporters of Cordeaux School) as well as the formation of a Shared Trust with Birkbeck Community Arts College and John Spendluffe Technology College.
The school also remembered the death of respected staff member John Filer and unveiled a commemorative bench and prize in his memory.
The ceremony was marked by an emotional send off to Hollie Arnold, selected for the Great Britain Paralympic team and bound for Beijing.
Former GB Paralympic coach Nigel Roylance was guest of honour.
