Wednesday 1.15pm - SADNESS has been expressed at the sudden death of one of Louth's representative on Lincolnshire County Council.
Coun Sheila Roy, who represented the Louth Wolds electoral division, died suddenly this morning.
She had been a county councillor since 1997.
Among the first to pay tribute was the leader of the county council, Coun Martin Hill, who said she would be 'sorely missed'.
Another Conservative county council colleague, Coun Colin Davie, said: "The news is a shock to all of us. Sheila brought passion and committment to her politics.
"She was in the vanguard of promoting the importance of environmental issues - it was her strong belief that the test of a just society is the kind of world it leaves to the next generation."
Coun Roy was also a former member of East Lindsey District Council and regularly warned about coastal flooding risk during the period when she chaired its planning committee.
She leaves a husband, Gordon, who is also a former East Lindsey councillor.
Funeral arrangement will be announced in due course.
