Tuesday 8am - A PLEA has come to Louth residents to fill in questionnaires that will soon be arriving through their letterboxes.
The responses will form the basis of the Louth Town Plan which will shape how the life of the community develops in the years to come.
If sufficient demand is indicated, it could lead to the provision of improved leisure, shopping, education, transport, health, economic and employment opportunities across the whole range spectrum.
The plan will also be the magnet for attracting grants worth many thousands of pounds from Whitehall and other funders.
Co-ordinating the initiative is the organisation, Meridian Links, whose officers - including town councillor Jill Makinson-Sanders, John Stanbridge, Morag Judd, Adrian Bently and Shelley Dawson - emphasised the importance of the project.
"It's imperative that Louth has a town plan," insisted Coun Makinson-Sanders. "Otherwise, we will miss out on an array of funding opportunities."
The survey forms are expected to be delivered by Royal Mail during the week beginning May 19, and rhe deadline for completion is June 25.
