Friday 11am - A RECESSION fighting support service, launched by East Lindsey District Council, is being used as an example for other councils.
The service, which aims to help families hit hardest by the economic crisis, has been branded one of the best by the government's Improvement and Development Agency after it was launched six months ago in partnership with the district's Citizen's Advice Bureau.

Based at Skegness Magistrates' Court, families across the district facing home repossession could seek support from the service.

Since January, the council has supported 23 residents and signposted many more to relevant agencies.

Coun John Upsall, ELDC's Portfolio Holder for Housing, said: "This shows residents are receiving some of the best support services in the country and we must continue to build on this."
