Wednesday 8am - A LOUTH playgroup closes down today after 40 years of service.
Parent managed Louth Pre-school Playgroup is saying goodbye for the final time after rising costs made it impossible for the group to carry on.

Vicki Denton, the playgroup leader, said: "We are all really sad. Not just because we are losing our jobs, but because we have to sell all our equipment and toys".

The group will be holding a special 'farewell party' to honour their 40 years of service in which one of the original founder members – now in her 80's – will be running a play session for the last time with the children, staff and parents.

They will also be selling off their equipment where all proceeds will be given to the Meningitis Charity, after one of the children who attended survived the virus.

The farewell party will be taking place at the playgroup based at Lacey Gardens School today from 10.30am.
