Monday 8am - A SMALL rural primary school has been branded 'outstanding' following a national school inspection.
Saltfleetby Church of England School was awarded the highest accolade a church school can receive from the National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglian Schools.

In the post inspection report it states: "Saltfleetby School is an outstanding school which nurtures and supports its pupils as part of a Christian family and community.

"The outstanding leadership of the head teacher, closely supported by a very effective staff team, and committed governing body has created a rich learning environment in which all pupils of all abilities thrive and where they are all valued".

The school was also praised for its outstanding performance at meeting the needs of all the children at the school by being fully inclusive and making all pupils feel valued and respected.

Headteacher, Mrs Angela Birchall received praise for her leadership skills and the staff was described as 'going the extra mile' for the children and parents.

The children were reported as saying they feel confident they are listened to and treated with respect by the adults and the parents of the school described it as 'an anchor' for the community.

The behaviour of the pupils was also marked outstanding and it is believed there is no bullying nobody is without a friend.

As reported, the primary school was also awarded the Artsmark Gold award for its excellent incorporation of the arts into school life.

The report follows a glowing Ofsted report which said Saltfleetby School was 'Good' with some aspects marked as 'Outstanding'.
