The A18 Barton Street will be closed in parts for three days from midnight on Monday night, July 15 as part of North East Lincolnshire Council’s annual road maintenance programme.

Closures will be in effect from Laceby Top at the junction with the A46 to where it meets the A16 at Ludborough, near Louth.

The first closure is between the A46 and Ashby Top (B1203) on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 16 and 17, and the second closure is from Ashby Top (B1203) to the A16 at Ludborough on Thursday.

Advanced warning notices have already been placed on access roads in the area and a diversion route will be signed.

The speed limit on the road is set to be reduced to 50mph on some stretches later this year after a spate of accidents including a fatal crash in April where five members of the same family were killed.

The council advises motorists to allow more time for their journeys while the works are carried out and apologised in advance for any inconvenience caused.
