MABLETHORPE Air Cadets are looking for new recruits from the local area, offering a huge range of activities and experiences for young people.

The 1228 Detached Flight meets on Mondays and Fridays, 7pm until 9.30pm at Sherwood Field in Mablethorpe.

In recent months cadets have taken part in weapon handling, hiking, Remembrance Day parades, fundraising events and many also completed their bronze Duke of Edinburgh award expedition at Tetford.

The cadets also get the chance to take the controls of a glider and fly for themselves.

There is also the opportunity to earn qualifications such as the BTECs in Aviation Studies and Public Services which are the equivalent to four GCSEs and will boost any CV.

Those aged between 13 and 17 years old are eligible to become cadets and can go along to find out more on Monday or Friday evenings.

Commanding Officer for the squadron at Mablethorpe is Scott Gardiner, who can be contacted during parade nights on 01507 473179.
