POLICE are warning people to be on their guard after a number of shed break-ins across the Louth area.
Sheds have been forced open and gardening items stolen from inside at night time over the last week.
Sgt Alasdair Booth urged shed owners to be on their guard.
He said: “Please could members of the public who own sheds ensure that sheds are left secure and remain locked when not in use. I would urge members of the public to remain vigilant at all times and to ensure that they log the serial numbers on any powers tools and electrical equipment they store in their sheds so they can be identified.”
Sgt Booth also appealed for information about the break-ins.
Anyone who has seen any suspicious behaviour in the area, or is offered goods for sale that they believe could have been stolen, should call the Police on 0300 111 0300 with information for the attention of Sgt Booth, or call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
